Before your appointment

Discuss current activity, symptoms and mobility limits. A clinician decides whether medical assessment is needed before increasing exercise.

Time, hospital stay & appointments

Times are planning guides, not national averages or guaranteed schedules. They reflect published provider examples and patient guidance. The treating team confirms the individual plan, time needed near the clinic and fitness to travel. Waiting lists are not included.

Procedure or course duration
Assessment is followed by a progressive activity plan and review.
Hospital stay
Usually outpatient; the assessment can span more than one discipline or appointment. Admission is only arranged if clinically needed.
Visits and repeat attendance
Begin with one assessment appointment. Further tests, counselling or a results review may be separate; the service should confirm which steps require attendance.
Recovery and travel planning
The plan should be realistic and adjusted to response. New symptoms during activity require the appropriate clinical advice rather than automatic progression.

Sources & finding a provider

Editorial source check: 29 October 2026. This is educational information, not an individual clinical assessment.

The specialty directories below help you research providers in each country; they do not confirm this procedure at every centre. The receiving service confirms eligibility, availability and international-patient acceptance. Procedure-specific clinical references are listed separately.
