Time, hospital stay & appointments

Times are planning guides, not national averages or guaranteed schedules. They reflect published provider examples and patient guidance. The treating team confirms the individual plan, time needed near the clinic and fitness to travel. Waiting lists are not included.

Procedure or course duration
NHS guidance describes approximately 1 hour for the operation. Inflammation, previous surgery or conversion to an open operation can extend it.
Hospital stay
Protocols differ. Helios Aue describes at least 2 postoperative inpatient days; selected laparoscopic cases in other pathways may leave earlier.
Visits and repeat attendance
Surgical assessment and preoperative tests, 1 admission and wound or results follow-up as directed. Bile-duct investigation or treatment can add separate procedures.
Recovery and travel planning
Confirm wound care, activity limits and the date for travel. A planned uncomplicated operation has a different recovery pathway from emergency surgery.

Sources & finding a provider

These country-specific sources document the service or its clinical use; their inclusion does not indicate a RAUQ partnership. Case acceptance, appointment availability and payment arrangements require separate provider confirmation.
