Before your appointment

Include prescriptions, non-prescription products and supplements, with doses and reasons for use. Explain side effects and practical difficulties.

Time, hospital stay & appointments

Times are planning guides, not national averages or guaranteed schedules. They reflect published provider examples and patient guidance. The treating team confirms the individual plan, time needed near the clinic and fitness to travel. Waiting lists are not included.

Procedure or course duration
Review time depends on the number of medicines and complexity of the clinical history.
Hospital stay
Usually outpatient; the assessment can span more than one discipline or appointment. Admission is only arranged if clinically needed.
Visits and repeat attendance
Begin with one assessment appointment. Further tests, counselling or a results review may be separate; the service should confirm which steps require attendance.
Recovery and travel planning
Any changes need an agreed prescribing and monitoring plan. Do not stop medicines independently; obtain an updated list for all treating clinicians.

Sources & finding a provider

Editorial source check: 29 October 2026. This is educational information, not an individual clinical assessment.

The specialty directories below help you research providers in each country; they do not confirm this procedure at every centre. The receiving service confirms eligibility, availability and international-patient acceptance. Procedure-specific clinical references are listed separately.
