Before your appointment

Discuss the indication, previous infections or sleep symptoms and anaesthesia. Arrange support and clear access to local emergency care during recovery.

Time, hospital stay & appointments

Times are planning guides, not national averages or guaranteed schedules. They reflect published provider examples and patient guidance. The treating team confirms the individual plan, time needed near the clinic and fitness to travel. Waiting lists are not included.

Procedure or course duration
The operation is followed by observation; admission arrangements vary by age and risk.
Hospital stay
Often arranged as day surgery, with observation before discharge. Some patients need an overnight stay; confirm an escort, local support and the centre’s discharge criteria.
Visits and repeat attendance
Plan for preoperative assessment, one operation attendance or admission, and postoperative review. These are three planning stages, not a guaranteed total of three visits: tests, wound care or staged treatment may add appointments.
Recovery and travel planning
Throat pain can affect drinking and eating. Obtain a pain-control plan and urgent bleeding instructions; the surgeon confirms how long to remain near care.

Sources & finding a provider

Editorial source check: 29 October 2026. This is educational information, not an individual clinical assessment.

The specialty directories below help you research providers in each country; they do not confirm this procedure at every centre. The receiving service confirms eligibility, availability and international-patient acceptance. Procedure-specific clinical references are listed separately.
