Time, hospital stay & appointments

Times are planning guides, not national averages or guaranteed schedules. They reflect published provider examples and patient guidance. The treating team confirms the individual plan, time needed near the clinic and fitness to travel. Waiting lists are not included.

Procedure or course duration
UKE Hamburg describes approximately 60–100 minutes, depending on prostate size. Anaesthetic preparation and recovery are additional.
Hospital stay
Hospital observation and temporary catheter care are part of the pathway. Confirm the number of nights and catheter-removal plan with the operating centre.
Visits and repeat attendance
Urological assessment and preoperative tests, 1 operation, catheter removal or a trial of voiding, and a later urinary-function and pathology review. Some steps may occur within the same admission.
Recovery and travel planning
Discuss temporary bleeding, urgency or leakage and the possible effect on ejaculation before consenting. Arrange follow-up even if the catheter is removed before discharge.

Sources & finding a provider

Editorial source check: 29 October 2026. This is educational information, not an individual clinical assessment.

These country-specific sources document the service or its clinical use; their inclusion does not indicate a RAUQ partnership. Case acceptance, appointment availability and payment arrangements require separate provider confirmation.
