Before your appointment

Clarify eligibility, consent, medication, monitoring and whether transfer is fresh or deferred. Legal access and permitted techniques differ between countries.

Time, hospital stay & appointments

Times are planning guides, not national averages or guaranteed schedules. They reflect published provider examples and patient guidance. The treating team confirms the individual plan, time needed near the clinic and fitness to travel. Waiting lists are not included.

Procedure or course duration
NHS example: a full IVF cycle takes around 3–6 weeks, depending on protocol.
Hospital stay
Usually a sequence of outpatient visits; procedures requiring sedation add recovery time. The clinic confirms any need to stay nearby.
Visits and repeat attendance
Assessment, cycle monitoring and any procedure or results appointments are scheduled separately. The number depends on the protocol and response; ask which steps may safely be arranged in your home country.
Recovery and travel planning
Monitoring, egg collection, transfer and pregnancy testing are distinct stages. The clinic must explain symptoms needing urgent contact and plans if the cycle changes.

Sources & finding a provider

Editorial source check: 29 October 2026. This is educational information, not an individual clinical assessment.

The specialty directories below help you research providers in each country; they do not confirm this procedure at every centre. The receiving service confirms eligibility, availability and international-patient acceptance. Procedure-specific clinical references are listed separately.
