Femto-LASIK vision correction
Ophthalmology · Planning care in Germany and Czechia
- Clinical name
- Femtosecond laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (Femto-LASIK)
- German
- Femto-LASIK / refraktive Hornhautchirurgie
- Czech
- Femto LASIK / laserová korekce dioptrií
A femtosecond laser creates a thin corneal flap, then an excimer laser reshapes the underlying cornea to correct selected refractive errors. Corneal thickness, eye health and prescription stability determine suitability. PRK and SMILE are different procedures.

Time, hospital stay & appointments
Times are planning guides, not national averages or guaranteed schedules. They reflect published provider examples and patient guidance. The treating team confirms the individual plan, time needed near the clinic and fitness to travel. Waiting lists are not included.
- Procedure or course duration
- Gemini describes a 10–15-minute laser operation, commonly treating both eyes on the same day. ARTEMIS asks patients to allow 2–3 hours at the clinic including preparation and the immediate check.
- Hospital stay
- An outpatient procedure, normally without an overnight admission. Arrange an escort or transport after treatment.
- Visits and repeat attendance
- A suitability assessment, 1 treatment day and several follow-ups. An ARTEMIS Femto-LASIK example schedules reviews at 1 day, 1 week, 1 month and 3 months: 6 appointment occasions including assessment and treatment, if these are separate. Other clinics use different schedules.
- Recovery and travel planning
- Vision may improve quickly, but that does not mean healing is complete. Discuss dry-eye symptoms, activity restrictions and how later checks will be arranged after returning home.
Sources & finding a provider
Editorial source check: 29 October 2026. This is educational information, not an individual clinical assessment.
These country-specific sources document the service or its clinical use; their inclusion does not indicate a RAUQ partnership. Case acceptance, appointment availability and payment arrangements require separate provider confirmation.
