Before your appointment

Ask about feeding, comfort items and whether sedation is anticipated. A parent or authorised guardian should attend under the centre’s arrangements.

Time, hospital stay & appointments

Times are planning guides, not national averages or guaranteed schedules. They reflect published provider examples and patient guidance. The treating team confirms the individual plan, time needed near the clinic and fitness to travel. Waiting lists are not included.

Procedure or course duration
The child’s age, cooperation and the question being assessed determine appointment length.
Hospital stay
Usually outpatient, without an overnight stay for the test itself. Preparation or additional tests may extend attendance.
Visits and repeat attendance
Plan one attendance for the test and a results discussion. The referral assessment and any repeat or additional tests may require separate visits; ask whether results can be discussed remotely.
Recovery and travel planning
Most standard scans do not need recovery. If sedation is used, observation and discharge instructions differ; the cardiologist explains results and follow-up.

Sources & finding a provider

The specialty directories below help you research providers in each country; they do not confirm this procedure at every centre. The receiving service confirms eligibility, availability and international-patient acceptance. Procedure-specific clinical references are listed separately.
