Before your appointment

Clarify the referral question, language and accessibility needs. Bring hearing or vision aids and relevant medical or school records.

Time, hospital stay & appointments

Times are planning guides, not national averages or guaranteed schedules. They reflect published provider examples and patient guidance. The treating team confirms the individual plan, time needed near the clinic and fitness to travel. Waiting lists are not included.

Procedure or course duration
Testing may be split into several sessions to allow rest and appropriate assessment.
Hospital stay
Usually outpatient; the assessment can span more than one discipline or appointment. Admission is only arranged if clinically needed.
Visits and repeat attendance
Begin with one assessment appointment. Further tests, counselling or a results review may be separate; the service should confirm which steps require attendance.
Recovery and travel planning
A feedback appointment explains strengths, difficulties and recommendations. Cognitive testing is interpreted with medical history, mood and daily function.

Sources & finding a provider

Editorial source check: 29 October 2026. This is educational information, not an individual clinical assessment.

The specialty directories below help you research providers in each country; they do not confirm this procedure at every centre. The receiving service confirms eligibility, availability and international-patient acceptance. Procedure-specific clinical references are listed separately.
