Before your appointment
Discuss the reason for treatment, stent use and antiplatelet medicines. Elective travel planning does not apply to emergency heart-attack care.
Time, hospital stay & appointments
Times are planning guides, not national averages or guaranteed schedules. They reflect published provider examples and patient guidance. The treating team confirms the individual plan, time needed near the clinic and fitness to travel. Waiting lists are not included.
- Procedure or course duration
- NHS example: 30 minutes to 2 hours; complex cases may take longer.
- Hospital stay
- A monitored hospital attendance, sometimes with an overnight stay. The access route, treatment extent and clinical stability determine discharge.
- Visits and repeat attendance
- Plan for preoperative assessment, one operation attendance or admission, and postoperative review. These are three planning stages, not a guaranteed total of three visits: tests, wound care or staged treatment may add appointments.
- Recovery and travel planning
- Obtain a written antiplatelet plan and never interrupt it without the treating team’s advice. Access-site review and cardiac rehabilitation may be required.
Sources & finding a provider

The specialty directories below help you research providers in each country; they do not confirm this procedure at every centre. The receiving service confirms eligibility, availability and international-patient acceptance. Procedure-specific clinical references are listed separately.
