Before your appointment

Ask about anticoagulation, fasting and pre-procedure rhythm checks. The team may require additional imaging or postpone treatment if prerequisites are unmet.

Time, hospital stay & appointments

Times are planning guides, not national averages or guaranteed schedules. They reflect published provider examples and patient guidance. The treating team confirms the individual plan, time needed near the clinic and fitness to travel. Waiting lists are not included.

Procedure or course duration
The electrical treatment is brief; preparation and anaesthetic recovery take longer.
Hospital stay
Usually day attendance with anaesthetic recovery and an escort after discharge. The team confirms whether longer observation is required.
Visits and repeat attendance
Plan for preoperative assessment, one operation attendance or admission, and postoperative review. These are three planning stages, not a guaranteed total of three visits: tests, wound care or staged treatment may add appointments.
Recovery and travel planning
Arrange an escort and follow sedation restrictions for 24 hours. Continue the agreed medicine plan and attend rhythm follow-up because recurrence is possible.

Sources & finding a provider

Editorial source check: 29 October 2026. This is educational information, not an individual clinical assessment.

The specialty directories below help you research providers in each country; they do not confirm this procedure at every centre. The receiving service confirms eligibility, availability and international-patient acceptance. Procedure-specific clinical references are listed separately.
