Time, hospital stay & appointments

Times are planning guides, not national averages or guaranteed schedules. They reflect published provider examples and patient guidance. The treating team confirms the individual plan, time needed near the clinic and fitness to travel. Waiting lists are not included.

Procedure or course duration
The Martini-Klinik describes prostatectomies taking around 3 hours. Operating time varies with the approach, anatomy and lymph-node surgery; the surgical team confirms the individual estimate.
Hospital stay
At the Martini-Klinik in Hamburg, discharge is commonly 4–6 days after surgery. Admission preparation may precede the operation. This is a named German pathway, not a Germany–Czechia average.
Visits and repeat attendance
Pre-operative assessment and 1 surgical admission, followed by catheter management or removal, pathology discussion and repeated PSA surveillance. Catheter removal can sometimes be arranged with a local urologist; the exact visit count is individual.
Recovery and travel planning
Discuss continence rehabilitation, sexual-function effects and the possibility of additional cancer treatment. Discharge and catheter removal are separate milestones and do not by themselves establish fitness to travel.

Sources & finding a provider

Editorial source check: 29 October 2026. This is educational information, not an individual clinical assessment.

These country-specific sources document the service or its clinical use; their inclusion does not indicate a RAUQ partnership. Case acceptance, appointment availability and payment arrangements require separate provider confirmation.
